• Railroad operations and asset management

 

We have performed reviews of the effectiveness of capital planning and mega-project delivery for several major transit agencies.  Our work has included independently validating program and project status, and evaluating the asset’s lifecycle assumptions, including the design, procurement, construction, and operation and maintenance phases.

• Safety reviews, oversight, and regulatory compliance

 

We have excellent relationships with Federal transportation regulators and USDOT. We have experience in preparing applications for new safety regulations, waivers and exemptions, and Rules of Particular Applicability.  We have assisted in preparing agencies for FTA’s Triennial Reviews and PMOC reviews.  We have former Federal regulators on our team, and we know how to evaluate and make actionable recommendations to improve safety systems and cultures.

 

• High-speed rail planning and delivery

 

We understand the significant challenges to developing high speed rail services in the United States.  We have direct high-speed rail experience in Texas, Florida, and the Northeast Corridor, including strategic planning, working with Owners’ Engineers and Design-Build firms, and working on funding and financing through the Railroad Rehabilitation and Improvement Financing (RRIF) and various related grant and loan programs.

 

• Mergers & Acquisitions

Private investors are diversifying their portfolios making investments across the aviation, energy, intermodal transport, and rail sectors.
